*FD30 Doors only
Veneered doors can be trimmed up to 3mm on each vertical edge and 5mm from the bottom of the door. The top of the door must not be trimmed, as this edge carries the Certifire label and if removed would invalidate the fire rating.
Standard FD30 Fire Doors are made up of a tubular core (approximate density 520kgm3) with softwood interior framing, lipped two long edges with hardwood lippings (6mm lippings are over veneered). 38mm softwood is used for the stiles and rails.
Our veneered doors are pre-finished with a clear acrylic lacquer providing a surface, where resistance to physical and chemical properties is required. Standard door sizes achieve a U Value of 1.8. The acoustic rating of standard doors complies with Approved Document E – Resistance to the passage of sound, when fitted with the appropriate seals. Moisture content of standard doors is 10% +/- 2%.
Internal Veneered (Pre–Finished) FD60 Fire Doors
Standard FD60 Fire Doors are made up of chipboard (approximate density 630kgm3) - solid core construction (no substrate), hardwood lipped two long edges (to match veneer facing), and have 10mm lippings over veneered). Pre-finished with a clear acrylic lacquer providing a surface where resistance to physical and chemical properties is required. Standard door sizes achieve a U rating of 1.8. The acoustic rating of standard doors complies with Approved Document E – Resistance to the passage of sound, when fitted with the appropriate seals. Moisture Content is 10% +/- 2%.
Non–standard FD30 and FD60 Fire Doors are made from two types of core:
(1) Chipboard core construction (no substrate) 44mm (1 ¾”) thick (FD 30) 54mm (2 1/8") thick (FD 60), hardwood lipped on all four edges to match veneer facing (please note the 8/9mm lippings can be over veneered, or can be supplied with exposed lippings.
(2) Solid timber core construction 44mm (1 ¾”) thick (FD 30) 54mm (2 1/8") thick (FD 60), hardwood lipped on all four edges to match veneer facing (please note the 8/9mm lippings (FD 30) 12/13mm lipping (FD60) can be over veneered, or can be supplied with exposed lippings. Doors can be pre-finished with a clear acrylic lacquer, providing a surface where resistance to physical and chemical properties is required. Alternatively, they can be kept un-finished for site polishing or staining.
